About me

I completed my training at De Montfort University, Leicester and graduated in 1995. I started my first NHS post in Portsmouth in 1995. I have just under 20 years experience of working in the NHS and made the move to setting up in independent practise in May 2015. I am a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT), the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice (ASLTIP) and registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC).

My most recent NHS work involved visiting mainstream primary schools in the Aldershot and Farnborough area and a clinic for children with speech sound difficulties. Prior to this I also worked in a range of preschool clinics and preschools/ nurseries and an early years multi-disciplinary assessment unit. I also worked in an infant language resource and a special school for children with moderate learning difficulties, many of whom also had autistic spectrum disorder.

I am committed to my own continuing professional development and have specific training in the following areas:

* Nuffield Centre Dyspraxia Programme

* Training from the South Thames Cleft Service (cleft palate/ palatal anomalies/ nasal speech)

* The Hanen Program for Parents

* Derbyshire Language Scheme

* Makaton signing

* Michael Palin Centre - Primary aged Children who Stammer
